A good for nothing coming in AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES LATE AS USUAL, then showing up an hour later while I'm trying to troubleshoot something (about 10:15am at this point), and saying I have to design a new label for a shipment going out AT NOON.

When was the first time this #)(%*)@( mentioned anything about this new label?  JUST THEN!!!  And this is not my boss.  I told my boss that it wasn't right that I should be expected to produce a brand new label in basically an hour (so they can print and put the labels on boxes by noon).  Then the guy says "don't ship until this label is done!"  Like I have nothing better to do, and my boss knows it (and understands at least what I am trying to get accomplished)

I flipped the "belching hummingbird," as I call this good-for-nothing, off from a safe distance.  I guess I'm going to submit for another ComputerWorld Daily Shark blog entry.

My mIRC expired so apparently I can't use it anymore unless I pay 20 dollars.  It doesn't even let me connect after the 20 second "please register" message now, it just exits out.

Tried chatzilla but I somehow got tagged as a drone/bot so now I'm banned for 3 days.  Guess I'll try kvirc when the ban is lifted...

For those who don't know, SSM is a methodology for thinking about how to plan how to think about how to solve a problem involving soft systems (ie. a system where people are involved - ie. a company). No joke. For our coursework we were given a case study of a fictional company that was having a problem, and we had to write an essay explaining how we'd use SSM to plan how to write a report explaining to the directors of the company how SSM could be used to help them solve that problem. It was the biggest waste of time I've ever had to struggle through at uni.

This was a class that resulted in you learning how to write a report that would tell people how implementing a particular methodology would solve their problem?  As opposed to actually solving the problem.  Yeah, I can see how this would be a waste of time.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

The fact that EA locked a lot of cool gear in Mass Effect 3, I just unlocked a bit of it.
2 new Armor sets, one casual clothing, a mech-dog and several weapons, 2 of them are actually OP.

Fuck you EA!

CZ just sucks, go into support with a different as it's obviously a mistake.

why do you guys care about ram usage so much? you guys have less than 2GB of ram or something?

well i guess my question is invalid since i got 8GB of ram to mess with >,>

I don't care either way (for the same reason ). But it still doesn't change the fact FF consumes RAM excessively.

Indeed. From the sound of it I figure that should have been described in the methodology's philosophy in the first place. Total waste of paper and ink.

Undocumented Makefiles. How the hell am I supposed to debug one missing generated file dependency when I don't even know what it is or where it comes from in the first place....

If you don't know it yet, people are pissed off at EA because they simply locked out a lot of core content:
-Weapons (2 assault riffles, 2 sniping riffles, 2 shotguns, 1 SMG, 1 Heavy Pistol)
-Armor Sets (N7 Defender Armor, Some Gladiator armor as counter to the Blood Dragon Armor set)
-Casual Clothing (N7 hooded jersey, looks pretty damn cool!)
-From the Ashes Mission (including a companion)
-Mech-Dog (lol wut? he does nothing, just runs around in the shuttle bay and you can talk to him and ask how is he lol)
-Omega Station mission for Aria T'loak (still locked, I have no idea how to unlock it)
-3 other missions that are mentioned in the script but are unavailable in the game.

All this was locked out before release and the following are unlockable for extra money:
-From the ashes for I think 20 $
-rarely unlocked N7 Defender armor from pre-order retailers, limited edition (my ass!)(yup10$)

All this is IN THE GAME CORE and EA tries to cheat players.

So yeah, people are angry at EA, which is why EA is going to release 2 maps for multiplayer to let the steam off, I already started to look for those maps in the coalesced.bin, and i'll be damned if they will get away with it if it's not actually a new DLC.

The fact that, unbeknownst to me, many months ago, the electric company that services my area anchored a line directly to my house, instead of installing or upgrading the infrastructure properly.  So now the tension on the power lines coming into my house is so great that it's actually ripping part of my house away from the structure, and the trunk that supports the lines is pulling away from the side of my house.

I called these people on Tuesday, and they still haven't sent anyone out yet.  I have a feeling that I'm going to have a fight on my hands.  I have to get them to fix this, or eventually the entire trunk could tear away from my house, possibly resulting in a fire or who the hell knows what other catastrophe.

I fucking hate owning a house.

Delayed trains. I'm tired, hungover, and just want to get home, I really don't want to have to spend an hour sat at a signal without moving at all, when the entire journey should normally only take 20 minutes or so. :(

Ixarku, all you have to do is report this to authorities, do mention that it was done without you knowing about it. It will prompt things to move on. Don't forget to tell that it's actually damaging your house structure and this is dangerous. The authorities will kcik in and the provider will have no choice but to do something about it within 7 days. Technically this kind of thing happens all over the world, those people think they can do whatever they want.

He reported it to the company responsible, since he done that, now he should take legal options like calling the police and fireman to investigate the safety of this trick, it's obviously against safety regulations and since he already reported to the company they have ignored it for now, after the police and fireman claim it's obviously not safe they will be forced to fix this and do it properly.

Simple, and probably, the only way, cuz they will be ignoring this until something bad happens and then they will simply deny it and blame the house residents. I've seen this a few times happening.

This is a civil matter rather than a criminal one, so I don't think the police are going to care one way or the other.  I'm going to give the utility company another call either today or when I'm back from the ISTQB conference on Tuesday evening, or more likely on Wednesday since I think I'll be home late.  If it were a power outage, the company normally dispatches someone immediately or the next day, but it takes a few days longer for non-emergency issues.

There's also an outside possibility that someone already came out and inspected the damage and left without letting us know they were here.  But my rommate is home during the daytime and hasn't heard or seen any sign of activity, and no one has been here in the evening, so I think it's unlikely that they've been out yet.

Worse case, I'll get a lawyer and start legal action of some sort.  But I have to give the utility company a chance to respond, first, even if it takes a few days or weeks.
