Aion. Started playing it again about 2 weeks ago since it switched to a free to play model and several of my friends were bugging me to play. I like the setting of the game quite a bit, although the pve is fairly ordinary.
The pvp, though, just annoys the hell out of me. So far it consists of a) me gathering or questing somewhere then getting hit with a big ass critical hit in a surprise attack because I wasn't paying attention that one damn time, b) I run away like a little girl, c) I get rooted, d) they catch me, e) I get 2 or 3 shot while I'm standing there. Every character I've been in combat against since I started playing again has been equipped with gold weapons, most have all blue and gold gear. My character is always in greens & blues. I don't have any characters at max level to feed my lowbies money, so it's not cost effective to try to keep up with the gear curve while leveling. Doesn't help either that I'm playing a melee character right now, so getting rooted is pretty much an automatic death sentence.
Oh well, I'll be cannon fodder for a while, until I either catch up or I switch to another character or I get bored and quit again.
