I agree they didn't handle it the best, but the reasons for the over 100 day protest is even more ludicrous. And it's developed into a "Fuck the government! Fuck everyone that is richer then me! Let's just yell until we get our way, with no regard for any other sector requiring funding! Better yet, let's try to convince ourselves we're fighting for everyone!"

I need to stop. Honestly, I just think they should roll in the military to make them chill out. I'm not saying to get them to stop arguing the original issue, but it's getting out of hand. For a $350 increase over 5 years they went disproportionally off the handle.

I didnt bother to look into why, but I knew it stalled. Sucks, but at least it ended in a somewhat reasonable spot so I can kinda deal with it.

Anyway- Some girl I was talking to said "whatever" just like a valley girl and she didnt even do it ironically. Ok, didn't really piss me off, per se, but just, ugh Was kinda funny because when she said it I mad a "wtf" face, or at least thats all I can really think of how to explain my expression. This hike has never been about saving money. According to the last studies, Quebecois bachelors pay on average about $379,000 more in taxes during their life time than the average citizen. The Quebecois government estimate that the tuition hike will save 265 millions a year but deter 7,000 students a year from attending university. Now consider that a bachelor costs on average $30,000 to train. what you get is 265,000,000 + 7,000*30,000 = 475 millions saved each year but 379,000*7,000 = 2,653 billions lost in tax. It's a pure lost. Almost all economists in the province agree that it's a pure lost. We have had several studies made by several different groups all agreeing that it a pure lost and yet the government is still going forward with it because it doesn't care about what it will cost, that's simply not why they are doing it.

It has never been about saving money. Jean Charest had lost his base support a year ago because of several bad placements which have wasted or is gonna waste hundreds of billions in the next decades. This hike is just a diversion. If you followed the story since the beginning like me it would be obvious to you too.

projects like that are most likely done on their whims without careful planning, or at least if they did plan it they never would try to explain why, because of some shady backgrounds i guess. also taxes were never honestly utilized anyway, corruption and underground projects(military projects most likely) tends to hog a huge portion of the tax >,>

I don't know, the stuff they sold at my university's marketplace was marked-up at least 1200%. It was the Pepsico version, hyper-caffeinated. As if the regular Pepsi wasn't terrible enough.

Anyways.

One of my coworkers keeps leaving these passive aggressive notes with "suggestions" on people's desks and in the staff room. Then, when you meet her, she acts perfectly unrelated to them until you purposely bring them up. It may be some kind of Jedi-mindfuck management style which I can't fathom, but it's annoying everyone and in turn everyone is annoying me at this point.

Unfortunately, she's the type that if you bring her up on things, she just gets stubborn and doubles down.
