Aion. I'm still playing it because a) it's free, and b) I enjoy the world. But I not real thrilled with getting griefed by higher level characters. Tonight I went through a rift to once more try to get a few spy quests done, and I got chased across literally the entire zone by another character who was 19 levels higher than my character (lvl 37 vs lvl 56). I mean, fucking really? He gets no points for killing my character, the only reason to do that is to be a dick. All I did for about a solid 5 minutes was root him periodically and run.
There are really simple ways to prevent griefing in games like this -- for instance, if someone is too low a level for you to earn points from him, then you shouldn't be able to attack the weenie character unless they attack you first. I don't understand why this isn't implemented in level-based games with pvp. I don't mind losing a fight where I'm outleveled or outgeared, but when it's a 100% guaranteed death, what the hell is the point of playing.
I dunno, this just reinforces my desire to get this character up to level 50+ then just park him and camp the incoming rifts in a zone somewhere, like the other side frequently does.
