Hotmail tends to treat half my legitimate emails as spam, and let most of the actual spam through. The biggest problem is that fact that it apparently seems to get hacked every few weeks. No matter what I change my password to,I always, every few weeks, open my emails to find myself bombarded with delivery failed notifications for vast quantities of spam that've been sent from my address. It's definitely not a security issue with my PC (done multiple virus scans, and even reformatted a couple of times since it started happening), it's just Hotmail's abysmally crap security. Other than that, I don't have many issues with it, beyond the general slowness of the website when I'm forced to go there to check my junk folder.

I mostly only use it for legacy reasons nowadays anyway (I've registered on so many websites with that address over the years, there's no way I can possibly remember them all to go and change it).

^ I went through the trouble to change the address to my second Gmail account for every site I cared enough about, and I'd say it was worth it.

Someone please correct me if I'm off base here, but I don't think it's necessarily your account that's getting hacked.  At least, as I understand it, if someone else has you in their address book and their PC gets infected with a virus, it's a common tactic for said virus to send emails from the compromised account, but to forge the email headers to make it look like they came from another legitimate address -- in this case by pulling good email addresses from the victim's address book.

So what really may be happening is that you are getting emails bounced back to you that originated somewhere else.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Well, the majority of failed emails seem to be being sent to emails in my address book (about half of them at a guess, the other half I don't recognise), so I'm not sure. It also always stops as soon as I change my password, at least for a few days/weeks.

But it's definitely quite possible, I suppose. Honestly I don't know all that much about email security.

I'm speaking from personal experience as well.  I've actually gotten emails I've never sent bounced back to my main Brighthouse email account before.  It's rare, but it's happened maybe 2 or 3 times in 6 years, with little bursts of 3 or 4 returned emails to addresses I'd never seen before.  And this has happened at times where I know I had no blatant security issues, and never had any other symptoms of a problem afterwards.  I've changed the password on my Brighthouse account once in all the years I've had it.

Uh, sure, I guess that works too, if you don't care about your accounts...

It pisses me off when my ISP throttles my download and upload speed more than once.

Sounds like you need some mosquito net.

Asshats who steal other people's property.  My gf just msg'ed me on Facebook and said someone stole her phone.  Just a year and a month and a half after someone did it to me, except they stole a lot more, plus I had to shell out $1000 for a friggin alarm system.

Second, smartasses with their tl;dr crap.  If you don't want to read something, just let it be.

My external harddrive has stopped responding.

It contains (or contained) my anime and TV series, music, movies, installation files for games, pictures, porn, mods... all the interesting things, really.

Stopped working in what way? You could probably get it checked at a store you trust.

If I switch on its power it simply does not respond, the computer doesn't even recognize it's there. It makes none of those "Hey, I'm reading data"-noises either.

Damn, I should've encrypted the porn and hentai. Noone cares about movies or music anyway.

Chances are they won't even need to plug it in to fix it.

Get a UPS.  A lot cheaper than getting a new PC when a power surge fries something.
