I've just been sent a bill for university course I didn't register for or attend... from 2010.

I've had a similiar experience with taxation. :\
The older the bill is, the more hassle to get it cleared or justified..
Yeah, apparently I've got to get the written statement of a professor I've never met, explaining we don't know one another from a course I never took over 2 years ago. Then hard copies of my records of the period have to be at some office or another by mid-December or... it gets more complicated.
I'm going to Paris in December, this isn't really what I should be dealing with. I really don't want to pay $600 for some convoluted computer error, or have my credit rating hurt either -- they just have this way of making everything 124.67% more annoying than it should be. As a bureaucrat of a sorts, that's easily the worst part of all this.
