If I leave my heater on before I go to sleep it's too hot to sleep. If I turn it off I can sleep comfortably, but in the morning the room is like an ice cube. It doesn't even matter how low I try to set the thermostat before I go to sleep... it either gets too hot or doesn't do anything at all.

...I need a timer to make my heater come on like 5 hours after I'm asleep or something. That sounds way too expensive.... maybe I need a fan or something with a timer that'll go for 5 hours then shut off.

Heating systems here have a built in timer, I couldn't leave my heating on all night, I'd boil to death.

And OT: That my thumbnail broke and is really short now. I don't know how people deal with nails this short ><

Sorry, I wasn't aware that you had one built in a house (sounds like that aparently, not sure what a "space heater" means)
