they're so fucking inconsistent in the quality of what they deliver that we can't trust them.  Maybe 80, 85, 90% of the work they deliver is fine, but it's the stuff that they miss that bites us in the ass later.  And they require more handholding

Sounds like there're empirically demonstrable good reasons for not outsourcing. Can you bring it to someone's attention that the company's bottom line is being hurt?

I don't have the raw data to show any associated cost one way or the other.  It doesn't matter in any case; outsourcing is part of the division's overall strategy, as we're an international company.  Upper management holds us accountable for their work, they expect us to find ways to make it work, and they figure that the overall cost is still lower even with any quality issues or overhead associated with the relationship.  It's more or less universal among us lower echelon peons & managers that nobody likes or agrees with outsourcing any aspect of our work, but we've all been forced to acknowledge that it's not going to change.

I suspect my dentist is overcharging my insurers and providing me with unnecessary care in the process.

I've been going to this woman all my life, I've never had a reason to look elsewhere as far as I'm aware. I've never had a cavity, and I failed to grow wisdom teeth -- I don't know if my care has been exceptional or I simply have resilient teeth and gums. 

I'm not sure if any other dentist would make me comfortable, but I've flatly refused to be bullied into my next appointment and am considering my options otherwise.

Her assistant calls, constantly. She's also kind of persnickety, she'll keep pushing me into making a definite date for an appointment and it feels like she won't take no for an answer. It's not quite stalker material, but aggressive telemarketer area is certainly visible.

I finished watching Real Humans, which I was really hyped for, but ultimately got disappointed.

The characters seemed really black and white; they were either racists or to the point of harbouring murderous robots, and it was pretty obvious that the writer knew little about computers (which the series is all about).

It had its good moments, but overall was mediocre.

I can be really tolerant but I have 'misophonia' so I can get really pissed with certain sounds like heavy breathing, clashing metals etc.
