My laptop has turned into a zombie, and I do not know how to restore it's life, and at the same time BANGING my head in the wall for not having taken that goddamn backup of all my photos, not to mention all that anime I have downloaded and not watched.....

Gaaaawd, I'm so mad at myself......

If it's beyond restoration, and the hard drive itself hasn't failed, you should be able to simply take the drive out of it to save all your data :]
...it may require screw drivers.

It's not dead, it just cant find windows.. the screen is just grey. I can do a complete reboot, but then I will loose all my stored data. I think I have to haul in some of my geek friends to help me on this, the only problem is that most of them does not live in the same city as me, and I will probably have to pay someone to help me.
I'm pretty certain that me + screwdriver + laptop will end up in a huge miserable disaster.........

Lol yeah, ours HAVE electric locks, just no one ever locks them. Just the buildings, but getting a key to them isn't that hard. A few are open 24/7 too, which is nice.

Lecturers who, in the assignment they set, insist on making us use a their own, special referencing system that they made up, and which can't be made to work with Endnote or any other referencing software, for no good reason whatsoever - when instead they could just let us use the standard Harvard referencing system used throughout the university, which is understood by everyone, easy to use, and easy to automate.

Now I have to spend ages going through and manually inserting citations and a bibliography for all 50-odd works I've cited in my essay.

Someone I don't even know requested to add me to Skype, so I assumed it was probably someone I gave my skype name to, but whoever they are kept trying to call me over and over non-stop even when I told them to stop... and apparently there's no disable calling feature in Skype.

...ended up blocking them. How annoying... It's even more annoying Skype doesn't have an ignore calls feature.

There's something in my college called "Self Study" time..

Basically, if we don't have a minimum 3 hours of class that day, we as in International Students must attend the school just for the sake of signing a certain piece of attendance paper, waiting for 3 hours, and then signing out again..

And if we get our attendance rate under 90%, we'll get letters that may lead to deportation..
