I agree with Metro. Grittier James Bond is much more interesting than suave douchebaggy Bond. Not that I ever was a big fan of the franchise to begin with but I liked the newer movies much more than I expected to.

Pierce Brosnan was an excellent Bond. Any Suave Brit could have done it... but instead they got a thug that looks like he got beat repeatedly with the ugly stick and can't act worth a shit... what's worse, they got horrible writers to compliment the new Bond.

I will agree the writing in the Quantum of Solace and Skyfall were questionable at best, but Daniel Craig did a good job with what he had to work with.

I thought Daniel Craig's Bond reboot was the most generous to Ian Fleming's novels and short stories, making them the most Bond of the Bonds.

Bond is supposed to be something of a weapon, a bludgeon the intelligence sector uses. He's cold, intelligent, and merciless. Craig fits the role well.

The first Bond film I ever saw was GoldenEye in 1995, I also had the N64 game, and then there was Tomorrow Never Dies in '97, The World Is Not Enough in 1999, and Die Another Day in 2002 - four Bond films. And for me, that was Bond. An attractive suave English gentleman that's good with the ladies and even deadlier with a weapon with all kinds of high tech goodies thrown in to boot.

Compared to Pierce Brosnan's Bond... Daniel Craig's is an insult to be honest.

I didn't read the novels or watch the previous films or whatever, but compared to the previous iteration of Bond... Craig's is just bad.

That's not James Bond, not by a million miles. It definitely shows you haven't read the novels. The reboot is indeed much closer to Bond as Fleming created him. He's a merciless, brutal killing tool no to mention a sadist and an extreme male chauvinist.

Both Roger Moore's and Pierce Brosnan's characters are an insult to James Bond, parodies at best.

Roger Moore was originally asked to play Bond but he refused. That's why we got the awesomeness that was connery.

Pierce was a great bond from, IMHO. It's just that the writers were complete shit at the time. Just what the fuck was Die Another Day supposed to be? Certainly not a bond film. Though the same can be said about Quantum of Solace.

Casino Royale is one of the best Bond films. That's without a doubt.

The problem with with the Brosnan movies was they were inkeeping only with the campier elements of Hollywood Bond - with the exception of Goldfinger.

Casino Royale and Skyfall are my favourite Bonds. They had what Bond movies have always lacked, character development and interesting relationships between characters. Quantum of Solace was filler, I enjoyed it but it doesn't stand up against the other two.

I propose that Tiffany's dislike of Daniel Craig as Bond belongs in the "Everyone loves it, but you absolutely hate it" thread.

Right now, my cable box is pissing me off. I think it may be dead. It's not successfully completing a hard reboot. Fortunately, Brighthouse has great customer service, so I can likely have someone out at the house on Saturday. Problem is, I got other shit to do Saturday morning than to wait around for the cable guy.

Realizing that The Vampire Diaries decided to take yet another 2 week break. Double u tee eff. So many breaks! It doesn't even help that ever since they came back from the last several week break that the show's sucked. Wait, they've only been back for like 3 episodes after a break... wtf.
