I don't remember the last time I viewed the Discovery channel, and the History channel only bored me once I viewed it.

I get irritated by all of these speculative history shows that keep popping up on History Channel, Discovery, and others.  I mean, I love a good conspiracy theory or lost land theory as much as the next guy, but I don't actually believe in any of that stuff.  It bugs the shit out of me every time I see some pseudo-scientist on TV claiming to set out to prove some radical idea during the next hour of the program.  And of course they never prove jack shit.  This stuff occasionally makes for entertaining TV but way too many of these programs give too much credence to the wild ideas & stories that people have.

I remember watching the bullshit the History Channel was going on about for 2012 and thinking longingly back to the days when I respected their integrity and could fill hours with interesting documentary pieces with people who knew what they were talking about.

Yeah no kidding.  I guess dry documentaries about anything more than 20 years old just don't hold the ratings anymore.  Now, it's all about this season's Deadliest Dildo or Unusual Job Show #567.  Worse are the "I Was Abducted By A Teenage Alien and the Government Is Hiding The Truth That Jesus Was An Alien When He Built The Pyramids" shows.  It was a great premise for a scifi show ala Stargate, but the assholes that pretend this is deep scientific truth are just spreading misinformation and capitalizing on people's interests in secret knowledge just to make a buck.
