My knee is hurting like hell right now.  Not sure what I did to it, probably hyperextended it.  Don't get old, kids, it's not what it's cracked up to be.

My house mates using my bathroom even though they have one upstairs for them, and what's worse is that there is sometimes unflushed pee in the toilet by their KID, OMG the things I suffer for low rent. The part of having standing pee is probably what pisses me off, but if they start using my shower GAHHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAa

It's fun when things explode and electrical problems ensue.

Nothing too major, I hope. Through no fault of my own, an electrical outlet got dosed with water and blew a circuit in my house.  Now I have no power in either bathroom.  Fortunately, this is not a critical problem but help is on the way.

most likely just a the breaker/fuse, if its a fuse though i suggest replacing them with breakers, they're easily reset-able than fuses albeit costly.

I have breakers.  Resetting the breaker in question does nothing, still no power to the circuit in question.

Problem identified!  The consequences of a circa 1984 wiring job which would not meet current building codes, combined with sheer random bad luck.

Power runs out from the circuit breaker to the outside outlet which got wet.  From there it goes up into a junction box in the attic and branches off to both bathrooms.  With the outlet dead, no power makes it to either bathroom.  Above the outlet is a light, which is on a different circuit from the outlet.  There is a switch which controls power to both the light and the outlet.  So with the switch on, the light still works even though the outlet doesn't, which is confusing as fuck until we determined that the light and the outlet are on different circuits.

Short answer:  replace the outside outlet with a new GFI outlet and everything should be wonderful.

Cost to replace an outlet:  ~ $10.
My contractor's paint sprayer hose coming loose in a freak accident and spraying paint everywhere, leading to the blown outlet:  priceless.

Yeah, the hose decided to pop loose randomly while they were painting outside my house, and it happened to spray paint in a direct line that hit the outlet.  When they were cleaning up the paint, they were hosing stuff off and hit the outlet with water on accident.

Some shit is always going wrong on my house, so it's become a bit of a running joke that my house is cursed.  We haven't figured out if my house is trying to kill my contractors, or if just doesn't want them to leave.

That house will have you for itself forever. It's overly attached I suppose.

That's what I think too, but I'm battling it.  I am firmly convinced that I am merely one custodian in a line of custodians for this place.  My task is to do enough to keep the place from falling apart, and hopefully improve or update a few things along the way, before it is time to sell it and move on.

March of 2018 -- that's when the mortgage will be paid off if all goes according to plan.  And then I will have an easier time getting into someplace else and hopefully escaping the curse forever.

Fuck yeah!  Problem is, it's been 5 years to go for the last 2 years.  I've had to push my date out a few times.  Which is yet another thing that pisses me off.   >:(
