Green onions! I hate wasting green onions. It's such a shame... The size of the packaging they come in has like 3x the amount that I could ever use in a month so they always end up ruining.
Button mushrooms too. Come to think of it, it'd be nice if I could just choose them individually rather than buying packages. I'd just buy like 5 at a time because any more than that and they'd ruin before I use them. *nods to self*
Oh and while on the topic of veggies, I hate a how once you de-stem romaine hearts they make such an insignificantly small amount of lettuce. The majority of their bulk is the stupid stem which tastes awful. A 3 pack of romaine hearts is the equivalent to like... 1/5th a head of iceberg. There's actually a lot more lettuce if you just get the normal romaine rather than hearts but then it's a lot more difficult to work with since usually the first few are kinda bad a little especially around the edges so you have to slice those off and throw parts away... and there may be other problems with them too. Hearts are way easier. Clean them in water for awhile then chop off the first 1/3rd or so before the stem gets thick and fold that all up into a tiny tight little thing then slice down the middle then along the sides in strips. That's done. Then you take the rest and strip the leafs off the stems which you can do in like 15 seconds per heart. You stop when you get to the small ones though that don't really have much in the way of stems. And you fold that all up and chop it up too. Then the last bit you just tear a bit off and cut it a few times and that's all there is to it. Stemless romaine hearts.
On another note, I forgot to get eggs and I only just remembered that I wanted boiled eggs with my salads. Oh well. I guess I'll have to get them later.
