Apple pie is kind of disgusting. Apples are crisp when they're fresh. There's a certain texture to apples baked in a pie that I don't like at all, somewhere between the crispness of a fresh apple and the sticky mushy goo-iness of nearly liquefied fruit.
Cherry pie, for that matter, is also kind of disgusting. Every cherry pie I've ever tried has been on the tart side, even though cherries are naturally sweet. I'll stick with fresh apples and fresh cherries. Pie just seems like a way to ruin perfectly good fruit.
