Farcry 3.
I've had this game since last new years, it was an unexpected gift from a friend who I did a favour for. I took it out of the box for a few hours of messing around but otherwise it fell to the wayside as I went back to play RPG's I've had forever. So, I've just completed the single player campaign over the last 10 hours or so.
It's... just sort of hollow. I can't exactly explain it in words, but something just keeps holding me back from having that experience it's clearly trying to create. It keeps towing this line between holding my interests and falling into ambivalence. The gameplay is fine, the actual mechanics are smooth and the quests are never so long that they become a chore. It doesn't overtax you with pointless fetch quests and the poker, racing, and hunting is fun to a degree. The story and script writing is annoying, but I expected that going in. There's just so much meh here.
I'd prefer to dislike an experience, over half-enjoying it. It just leaves me wistful.
