Heterochromia opinions
« on: September 20, 2010, 07:49:59 PM »
I want to know what are your opinions on anime characters with heterochromia (a.k.a. eyes of a different color, desu~ eyes, 2 eyes 2 colors, etc.) ... do you think they look better that way? are they cuter this way? would you still "like" them the same if they had normal eyes?

Heterochromia does occur IRL, but it is usually associated with other, more severe medical problems. I know some characters (see: main characters from 11eyes, Rental Magica, Venus versus Virus, etc.) have some mystical powers associated with the weird-colored eye, but a lot of other characters have different colored eyes purely for aesthetic reasons.

So... your thoughts? Also, any favourite anime characters with this condition? (mine's Suiseiseki)

Characters with heterochromia get a few points extra. I haven't seen much in animes but I find it cool. I know several people in real life with heterochromia and it's just fascinating.

Heterochromia IRL looks totally awesome if the color difference between the two eyes is significant. I know this girl who has a green eye and a hazel-reddish one, she looks ... awesome. Me and some friends convinced her (while all of us, including her, were drunk) one day to wear a long frilly dress and to put ~desu at the end of every sentence... that was a sight to behold :D

I've seen green and brown when I was a child. I thought it was cool. (yet also artificial). The girl seemed... how should I put it... ashamed of it?

Heterochromia is fine as long as the color on each eye are on the same frequency.

in anime it's fine. In real life I find it creepy.

It's usually the sing that someone's either mad or has some über power. Can be a nice one in both but it takes a certain kind of character to make it work, otherwise it's just retarded.

Because we can!

Well, it medically is an abnormality... :D

in anime it's fine. In real life I find it creepy.

When I first saw a person IRL with heterochromia I was freaked out too... I looked weird. But since the girl who suffered from it was a very fun person, I became adjusted to it, so now I don't really hate it, actually I think it looks kinda cool if heterochromia fits your personality and you're not ashamed of having it.

I think heterochromea is cool/cute in both real life and anime.

I especially like the heterochromea of Madobe Nanami (aka Windows 7-tan). Each eye is several different colors.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

Asuna Kagurazaka from Negima has awesome eyes.
I don't recall ever meeting anyone in real life with two different colored eyes.
