My younger brother had a friend with heterochromia, and one eye was blue and one eye was brown. The blue eye was the one he was blind in, and the brown eye had perfect vision.

In anime, it's fine, and it's perfectly fine in real life too. There are different types of heterochromia too.

From the wiki page, they say there is central heterochromia too, and I've seen that a lot actually.

When I was younger, I used to wish I had heterochromia.

It bothers me for some reason, it distracts me then I can't stop noticing it.

I didn't know that that pic was a type of heterochromia. my gf has that in both eyes.
It bugs me a little. but it's consistent so it's not that bad.

I actually have Central heterochromia so around the pupil in my eyes is different to the rest of my eyes.
It has never really bothered me before and it still doesn't... it's nice to be slightly different :P

Awesome, end of
however central is interesting but I've never seen it in anime...
I used to have an issue with making eye contact, but since I talked to the guy with heterochromia I can't stop :P
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

I know a girl who has a green eye and a blue one. It looks totally awesome. Especially because one is green and green is my favorite color and rare in eyes, she's the only person I've ever seen with a green eye.

Heterochromia in Anime = WIN
Hetrochromia IRL = WIN

Green eyes are rare? You should come to Finland.  We have lots of different variants of green eyes.
We've also got other cool colours here, like different shades of grey.
But amber and hazel are kinda rare here though.

My mother's got dark green eyes and father's got salt grey eyes. I've got greenish eyes with a "star" in them that change to grey under the right lighting conditions. The "star" is a kind of a X-formation circling the pupil. It's like a fractal, the deeper you look the more intriquing it gets. My sister the opposite, she's got blueish grey eyes that change to green under right lighting conditions and she's got the star too. My brother also has the star so I'm quessing it's a dominant trait. Oh yeah, it comes from my father if you care about that.

Oh yeah, if we count central heterochromia I quess I've got that. In both of my eyes the area right around the pupil is amber.

Because we can!

A friend of mine has a very nice blue/green/gray colour in his eyes and changes colour, but to a light hazel with the blue/green/grey, and no "formation". Seems interesting with the formation thing, pics please?

I don't have a camera, only my phone camera and it is not good enough. So I resorted to google.

A normal eye, like a "sun"
(click to show/hide)

An eye with a simple "star"
(click to show/hide)

So now you get the idea?
That's pretty much what my eyes look. Except, I've got two layers of the starring formation. And my eyes are green, except from the inside of the star, where they're amber, and the starring itself is grey.

Because we can!

Mat has Central Heterochromia too. I read the Wikipedia article and realised as soon as I had that his eyes look just like that, they're bluey grey for the most part, but brown around the pupil.

The only anime I can really remember that had heterochromia was rozen...

I mean I've seen it in pics a ton, but just not too much in an actual show

Personally I think it's fine, nothing special about it imo, just stands out in the mind.

I don't notice eye colour in RL. So I don't know if anybody I've met has it.

In anime it is nice. More variants is nice. :)

I considered at one point what it would be like to try and learn to use contacts. At one point, to consider purple eyes, and at another to have 2 different colored eyes (I think I was considering blue and black, but I forget).

But never actually acted on it. Contact lenses still creep me out to this day. Also... I have perfect eyesight, so my jealousy for glasses still overpowers the idea of contact lenses.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.
