If you're not like the typical money person... the demo is good enough to figure out the game.
I personally had issues with the controls at first, but once you figure it out, it's not bad. (Takes quite a bit of time to warm up to?)

I saw a few ads for this on steam. The trailer looked pretty interesting. No weapons reminds me of playing through the Fatal Frame games on ps2. =x

But you actually could defeat ghosts in fatal frame, no?
This game is more like, run and avoid. It likes to prey on the helplessness factor.

It gets worst when you start to... sort of "hallucinate", things go real awkward and whacked.
