I live in Toronto, Ontario—Canada. Hanayome, if you decide to move you should come here. USA is currently dropping on the best places to live, and Canada—I believe—is in third. USA's economy is also going down the drain...
Nah, even if I move anywhere it's only against my will. I'm perfectly fine here and wouldn't mind living here for the rest of my life. I'd love to check out all the awesome countries (tourism) but settling in any of them (IMO) is way more trouble than worth... But life never goes how you want it to. Will most likely have to run off to some country like US or Canada for studies after college... :-\

I'm the odd one out in the family. Conflicting opinions the entire time. I never come to an agreement with anyone else. So even though US seems awesome to them, it's not the same to me... ::)
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

^ nice Norweigians eh? About half of my heritage comes from Norway... Although I know nothing of their culture. That side of my family all moved to Minnesota although from what I can gather I have no more relatives alive from Norway... Apparently they were not big fans of having children.

oh btw I'm new to bakabt and I'm from Florida of the USA. [just thought I'd sneak that in there]

Yeah, Minnesota is like our (Norwegian) colony. When US completely collapses, we should probably annex Minnesota out of solidarity.  ;D

The way you have kept referring to "the motherland" made me think you were from the mainland.
So you only know Cantonese then?

And Sarah Palin, too.  Make her move to Minnesota and tell her that she can see Norway from there.

Don't worry, in our socialist paradise we have enough adequate facilities to take care of them both.  ;D

San Diego, California. Born, raised, and now studying and working here.

Looks like I'm the only Californian from SoCal (or at least that has actually said it in this thread). :S

I wonder is there any particular reason why Minnesota has so many Norwegian [sorry for the typo ;D ] colonists? or is it purely a climate similarity that attracts them to it? Either way I wish I knew more about my heritage... sadly no answers from my elders... The common conception of Norwegians from most people I meet is that they are kinda creepy, but I'm sure that's just a rumor.

As for your socialist paradise I agree socialism works for a country like Norway because it lacks cultural diversity... I don't think it would work here in the US mainly because we lack unity its every man for himself here...

Your both lucky. I want to live in Saudi Arabia. How close are you guys to Mekkah?

I currently live in the United States. It was cool in the beginning, now its a nightmare with economy.
Thuwal is near Jeddah and Jeddah is around 100km away from Makkah (1 hour drive). Oh, Makkah and Thuwal seem to be 130km away from each other... Roven, as he said, lives there. Lucky. >_> Both places are very crowded throughout the year though.

After all the wonderful things I heard about US from my relatives, I sometimes feel like leaving KSA and going there instead...
Beside Japan, Saudi Arabia is the place I want to live in as well. Are you far away from Medina (City), too?

I've yet to decide which city I'd like to live in Japan. Maybe Osaka or Chiba.

^I can't imagine why anyone would want to live in Saudi Arabia. If you do want to live in an arab country, pick UAE or Kuwait.

And if you happen to be a female, stay away from those middle east countries like a plague.

I live in Dammam, so distances would be...

Dammam to Makkah:
Quote
The approximately estimated travel/road distance can be around 1361.05 km to 1479.4 km
Dammam to Madina:
Quote
The approximately estimated travel/road distance can be around 1237.51 km to 1345.12 km

Talk about far away. Went to Makkah with car several times though...

And if you happen to be a female, stay away from those middle east countries like a plague.
You mean - Actually, forget it. That would be an invitation to a flame war...
