ell they removed the "other OS" option a LONG time ago...

gah I have a freaking netbook and it can't even run fricking three semi large applications without lagging, no way in hell I'm converting MKV's

Uh... what ever happened to a VGA or HDMI/DVI cable?

Doesn't sound like you actually need the PS3 for playback - just hook up your PC!

PS sry, that was pingryanime, not the OP... though who knows, maybe that'd work for the OP as well  ???

Some people don't like swapping cables.... I personally have hdmi cables and vga cables coming out of my tv. Doesn't bother me, and no need for a projector if people want show a powerpoint in my home or something. (Or rehearse a presentation for school etc.)

Aadieu:
Y-cables and switchboxes do exist, although they can be ridiculously expensive... then again, ever since HDMI and DVI entered the scene, $50 for a cable WTF???? is becoming a less common reaction - guess people get used to anything these days.
