Greg Giraldo Dead.

Well as topic says Greg Giraldo died today due to overdose.

He was a great comedian.

not really all that shocking if you have heard any of his interviews on radio shows like opie and anthony he basically said himself for quite a while he had been constantly drinking himself into a state of comfortableness for years. And more or less made it seem like he was the guy at a AA or NA meeting that was like shaking for his next drink.

Not the greatest comedian but definitely one of the better mainstream comedians out there in current comedy

It was a surprise to me. I dont follow his interviews or anything but i love to hear his stand up especially the roast. If they do another it will be a shame not to see him cuz whats a roast without Greg Giraldo.

Not much different since alot of those "comics" dont even write their own jokes for the roasts.

Anyway, I never thought he was funny to begin with but its unfortunate none the less.

I happened to see Jon Stewart mention this at the end of last night's Daily Show, and he seemed pretty choked up about it.  I was never a fan of Greg Giraldo, but I never had any ill will towards him, either.

Being a comedian is a really stressful occupation.  You have to go up in front of a lot of people every night, and even if your material is really good, you still might get bad reactions from the crowd.

A lot of comedians turn to drugs/alcohol abuse.

when i still had my XM i used to listen to shit with interviews with comedians and  the fucked up thing is how many comedians (mainly ones who dont do the real family friendly shit)  would have good material and kill at a club but they focus on the like 3 people in the back that arent laughing and get really down on themselves.

Greg giraldo on the radio(i didnt follow his interviews just heard a few days where he was in the studio and they talk to him and he talked about how fucked up he was for the past several years)
