so they're planning an Amagami SS with 3 episodes per girl? or less. . .?
it looks like 4 episodes per girl actually like with Amagami SS, it's not a bad idea to be honest, it's far better actually than having a show about a lot of girls trying to seduce one guys and at the end none is chosen and you have to wait for a potential season 2 and so on, in the meantime you start developing sympathy for one girl and the choice the director makes pisses you off, it's actually better for our health :)

Great EP though, seems like it's going to be fairly entertaining :)

Im pretty sure you've seen school days friend. . .so there are many ways out of that situation that dont require him to get "none"
its better for everyone1

lucky for us, it's not school days, I like how mature (?) is this show, it was really surprising there have to admit, but it was also great.

well I'll be hoping some nice stuff will happen next, and did anyone noticed that they started from the biggest cup girl ? Sora has the smallest cup I think so she will be last lol

srsly?
the first episode look mature enough, hell the first episode was extremely promising
it started going downhill to a "fan service-based" thing eventually and with this episode it concluded that! (which IMO is not mature. . . at least not the way the present it)
I wouldnt be surprised if they add more service as we move along!
AND. . .someone needs to be smart enough to have something close to school days.

Gogeta, why don't you watch School Days on inifinite loop and leave this forum? Thanks.

In your face, SD fanatics! I burst out in laughter when Akira's seiyuu confirmed arcs!

It's arguable if arcs are a good trend for future harem shows but I think the way YnS executed that concept is pretty well thought of. At least better than Amagami SS (well, they were the prototype so to say). The fact that they don't start from scratch like ASS but continue from the episode before the Girl A was the focus of the coming episodes is a good idea. They can keep the development of the Girl B and change the episodes accordingly and at the same time introduce Girl C in order to restart from there. But I don't know if that is the way they'll do it and how they'll do it as I don't see any real event in which Girl C can be introduced.

The structure of the episodes is as follows:

Blu-ray Vol 1. Kazuha route : Ep 1,2,3,4
Blu-ray Vol 2. Akira Route : Ep 1,2,5,6
Blu-ray Vol 3. Nao Route : Ep 1,7,8,9
Blu-ray Vol 4. Sora Route : Ep 1,7,10,11,12

So they're not going to reset to episode 2 for each girl, only Akira and Kazuha.

Well, I'm liking it so far, so I'll probably watch till the end, especially if all arcs have interesting scenes like the one in episode 4. :)

At least the Sora route gets the most episodes, which looks to be my favourite.  Too bad the maid doesn't get a route, I really like her character for some reason.  Her playful nature could be interesting.

her route is the comedy punch, at the very least that is where she gets her screentime the most :)

It was pretty good how the first arc ended, a tad surprised how that all played out (for the better). It was nice to see how Sora didn't act pissed at the fact Haru was going with Kazuha. Can't wait until next Tuesday!

I just prefer a focus on one heroine.  This new method of harems may have potential to be good but it will never be GREAT.

We will never get a Clannad Afterstory-level VN adaptation with the arc method.

Though I wouldn't mind a Tomoyo OVA.

Actually, that surprised me a lot, for most of those episodes Sora was quite possesive of Haru.  Can't see why it's suddenly ok in her eyes.

I'm done with this series. The arc of only character I mildly liked is now over and it wasn't that good so... yeah. Just another dull series that won't live up to its potential. So much for the good harem drama I was looking forward to.

well mature. . .ok
let me change my wording
I didnt mean mature as in age-wise
I meant seriousness. . .I felt it went to the fanservice too much.

this method is to focus on all fans and it works great so far, and there is a Tomoyo ova actually.

We will never get a Clannad Afterstory-level VN adaptation with the arc method.

this method allows for two things:

1) you can put every character in the spotlight for a few episodes, and give them a good ending at the same time.

2) budget, and return-investment wise, this means that, while not achieving "great" status to a select group of people, the series will have, at the very least, one arc that will please somebody.

in the end, it is a very rational way of producing a harem-type series while not having either a "tenchi-solution" nor a focus on a single couple.
in sum, while not the best method, this is actually the most crowd-pleasing method.

If we only ever strived to please the crowds, most great things wouldn't exist.
