(i dont mind the excess steam in this type of shows either)

I didn't expect Gogeta to mention this first, heh.
It's a pretty fucking serious show that sure as hell isn't going to be all about platonic love. Not hiding nudity is perfectly fine.
Nudity does not equal fanservice.

Na, I get what you mean.
I don't think simply showing a female nipple automatically equates to fan-service. I do think, however, that a scene that is nothing but a close up of a girls boobs can be construed as anything else.

erious:
The bath scene was there to show the girl reflecting on her meeting with Haruka, because when you take a bath you tend to think about what happened during the day.
And guess what, when you take a bath, you do it naked. Yes, that's right - people get naked in real life! Unthinkable, I know.
You can show nudity in fiction, even if it isn't necessary for the story without it being fanservice - that's how real life goes. Going out of your way to avoid it is unnatural, and isn't something you should do unless you're targeting your work for younger audiences, or have to conform to obscenity laws. And guess what? People masturbate in real life as well. People have sex in real life as well. Does every work of fiction that depicts sex without directly relating it to the story have fanservice? Hell no. And anyway, from what I know, sex and lust do have a part in the story of Yosuga no Sora.
I don't know where this prejudice against sexual matters in anime comes from - sex is part of life. And a part of fiction as well. I don't know, maybe you didn't have much experience with works touching those subjects, maybe you've grown up in environment that still holds sex as something dirty.
But if you can't view a naked body without thinking about it only as pornography, then maybe you need to grow up a little.

Soryon:
sigh, again you have missed the point.
I was set out to simply say that I believe it detracts from the story as it is unnecessary. You can depict actions with out showing them.
You are right, people do get naked in the bath, they also masturbate and have sex. NOW, tell me a good reason to include it in detail in an animated work (or 3d, for that matter) if its not to titillate a portion of the viewers.
I dont see it as pornography or obscene. I have seen plenty of it in my life. Just becuz its something that actually happens isnt a good enuf reason in my personal point of view to go out of your way to show it.
Such as having a 3 second scene that shows absolutely nothing but a bare pair of boobs. Its no longer showing her reflect, its showing tits.

Whatever, its pointless to debate opinions. I will abstain from any further conversation regarding this topic.

lStealtherl:
Almost all nudity in this show I percieve as fanservice as well. Doesn't do much except to excite the viewer. The ending with all characters lying in different positions showing all kinds of pants/stockings/boobs/bras is particularly obvious.

erious:
I have yet to understand how a 3 seconds long shot of breasts could possibly detract from the story, unless you, personally, are for some reason bothered by nudity and pay needless attention to it - but hey, if you're going to throw in the towel lets leave it at that.

Now, I'd agree with - at least with calling that fanservice. But it still isn't a negative thing in any way imaginable.

Keep in mind that this comes from someone whose reaction to actual, full blown fanservice is usually "Heh, panties", not "OMG panties brb fapping" - and that's what I think is the reaction of everyone, save few teenagers in puberty, who actually enjoys fanservice - the ones treating fanservice as some kind of softcore pornography are the ones who loudest oppose it.
