Well, I'm connected to the University network. So they might be tracking all the downloading and whatnot.
The netadmins are almost certainly doing more than just track it.

So I don't know anything about proxy's except that they seem to me like a backdoor around blocks like what the University is doing.

So how do I set one up or am I not supposed to talk about proxys in this forum?
And if I did set one up, would it work?

Uh, let's just say that if you try to circumvent a system that the University put in place, you may get majorly screwed...

And no, I don't see why a proxy should work.

Pay for part of a seedbox with ftp access and then download all your files off it with ftp and the uni network. Thats what I did when I was stocking up last year and the uni was covered in "ILLEGALLY TORRENT AND WE'LL KICK YOU OUT" posters

You go on Google. =)
Most seedboxes will tell you how to use their service. If they don't, and you don't know how to use it, why are you paying for it?

There are plenty of others though. Google is your friend.

Well I'm British myself and I've had no problem, so I'd say no.

I would probably request SFTP access if the seedbox only advertises FTP. Adds a layer of security.
Otherwise, they're pretty safe.

Ok So I bought a plan from Seedbox. Now do I just start torrenting or what?

Pretty much.  Just follow their instructions on how to add torrents to your seedbox and pull files from there onto your computer.

Ok no joke, I have no idea how to work this. They gave me all the info and told me to use Filezilla or whatever but I can't figure it out.

Seriously is there a tutorial on this that I'm missing?
