Anime Karaoke?

Is it just me or is Karaoke for the OP/ED of an anime the most useless thing ever?
Do people actually watch the an opening lots of times/sing along to the Japanese words? Can't you just listen to what's being sung
I skip most opening unless its a good song then I'll listen to it a few times but why do I need the timing for the sylables of the words?
Seems people complain if a torrent doesn't have this/ groups take a lot longer with release because of it WHY?

I do. I like it. With Karaoke font effects it adds a flavor to it. I didn't enjoy watching them long long ago. But now I just watch the beginning and ending.

Some people like them you so may as well include them.
You know as soon as some group stops doing it people will complain, so..
Tho I would prefer for them all to be left out and simply have separate files for the OP and ED, but eh.

I don't like it when they have the Karaoke in romaji.
What I'm whating now they sub the Karaoke in english in the bottom of the screen and romaji in the top.
I can hear what they're saying already. They should do it in kana. (a few groups do and it's better)

Nah I guess one is Japanese written by sound in English and one is Japanese writing?
I can see why English karaoke would be useful as you could see sort of how the sentence is playing out, although surly they construct their sentences different so there wouldn't be a very good translation between the two
