Anime Karaoke?

Enzedder:
I appreciate a good karaoke. I remember when I first started watching anime I often thought that the karaoke was part of some series it was that well merged with the video. I do however like it better if it is a single external file.

I don't think a karaoke needs to be there and there are some groups that attempt it and fail badly however there are some that do it and do it well and for that I definitely enjoy the extra effort they go to just to do it. No sub should be judged based purely off it.

Sure, but song lyrics are hardly important to the plot.  Most of the time they don't even make any sense.

That being said, I'm of the belief that they should be translated just like the rest of the show, but I honestly don't notice them when they're gone, except in the case of a particularly lulzy song that I like to sing (parts) along with to annoy my housemates, like Umineko's ED.  ALL DEE-ZY-ER!!! [silence] SAC-RIFICING TO GAHH!!!

... You do that too!?!? >_>

Don't we all?
I guess I'll hold back from doing the usual.

Oh, it's not entirely about the plot.  Often, it's for the pure poetry of it.  When I'm immersing myself in an anime, this sort of transitions me into listening to another tongue.  I love the flow of sounds; having a visual cue to help break out the words also helps me recognize them when they are spoken later in the dialogue.  It's a similar game (for me) to solving a crossword puzzle.  I pick up bits & pieces & clues from everywhere and then rely on my memory & processing power to assemble them, partially, into other insights to help the overall experience be richer.

Like I mentioned before, I'd be pretty jazzed to have a stream of romanji & literal Eng subs running simultaneously.  I'd probably be semi-fluent in Japanese by now if that option were available.  "No, dear.  I am NOT watching cartoons!  I am studying Japanese.  Now cut me some sushi, and I'd like tea with that.  Thank you."

 ;)
