from ANN - Plot Summary: Squid Girl has come to the land from the depths of the sea to conquer humanity for its pollution of the ocean. Unfortunately she ruins the first house she uses as an invasion base and has to work to pay for repairs. Of course, she can't overcome the Aizawa sisters who manage the house, so who knows whether she can subjugate humankind

i watched most of the first ep raw and i absolutely loved it. Ika Musume is so funny and original, i was laughing through the whole thing. she can even control all her hair tentacles and make ink!! thats going to be funny, i cant wait to see what they do with that.

gonna be starring at it for hours hoping she catches whatever she tries to catch

had a little Internet crash so everything is at 99.9% (oh the irony) gonna watch this episode from EMO for now, and hope someone better subs it along the way

looks like a funny show though, also, is it just me but she looks very closely like Index, a little bit different here and there but she does resemble her a little, just a little.

Edit after the ep1:
EMO didn't do terribly bad, but errors are visible.

this show has a lot of humor, I even feel kinda sad for her now

she is pretty cute, and learned something valuable by now HAHAHAHAHA

FFFpeeps did a better job than EMO but still there were some errors, still very enjoyable comedy.

yeah, there are quite a few jokes about her looking like Index, but at least Ika Musume wont become a side character in her own anime.

i will follow this anime for sure, the comedy was just brilliant. when she sneezed and inked all over that girl, i almost couldnt breath, i was laughing so hard.

i am downloading FFFpeeps ver. right now. i dont really want the one from the newly formed EMO group, they did fine i guess, but they need improvement.

Ika Musume is split up into 3 parts per ep apparently, so it looks like its gonna be like a 4koma style anime even though i dont think the manga was. it might be better this way cuz a lame joke wont get dragged on too long and they can move on to something else fast enough so i dont get bored while still telling the story nicely.

i never tried spaghetti with squid ink, gonna have to try it someday when I go to Japan again

Just watched it and it does indeed seem to be a nice change of pace. Almost a waste to watch them one by one. I will most likely probably wait until it finishes or the season ends and then marathon it.

Also, is it just me or have a lot of recent animes switched to the segmented episode format?

i like Chizuru....sort of...she's one of those 'always has her eyes closed' girls, and when she opens her eyes, you know bad stuff is going to happen. i do think she was a bit mean to Ika-chan though, she didn't have to cut them all off.

i liked FFFpeeps subs better, they were easier to read imo.

Yea, I kinda feel that way about this show so far also.
It was not bad at all, but I am not sure it will end up being something where I anticipate the next release enuf to DL it every week. (as is the case with most comedies unless unless its also a romance or has a gripping plot.)
Either way, for another week or 2 I will keep up and see how things go before deciding whether to just DL the eps and marathon at the end or if I should add it to my weekly anime rations.

There is nothing glaringly wrong with it at all. It's just not one I can fit into my normal watching time when compared with other slightly more serious shows. Which is the actual reason why I want to wait till it's finished to watch it in it's entirety instead of having a short 21-24 minutes of laughs. I don't like switching from funny to serious all the time. I can reset my mood on most occasions but I prefer not to have to do it consciencelessly lol

I can sort of understand this, I generally group together shows I watch by their genres. eg, right now I'm mostly watching comedy, slice of life, easy going shows, but a bit back I watched a lot of more "serious" animes (eg, DNAngel, Chrono Crusade, etc)

and I loved this episode, this girl is so damn funny in many ways, the mosquito scene was so damn awesome, pure epicness.

I feel more sad they made her puke ink so much, she looked kinda worn out, did anyone notice that she is quite polite ?
