to lazy to read the whole thread just curious if tiffanys said who he/she in his/her family he/she wants to bang since that is usually the only reason you start a odd thread like this without a bizzaro news story to go along with it
Frankly that's a bit insulting... And well, if I wanted to then I'd do it regardless if it were legal or not. But, I'm not interested.
What I am interested in are people's rights. To be quite honest, I can't help but feel that later on people are going to look back at our time and see us in the same light that we see the Dark Ages, and it's sad because we can do something about it but nobody does.
Agreed. Though I see it getting a lot worse before it gets better. It's a central problem of any government whose officials answer to the people, really. A single person can be intelligent, but a mob is pretty much invariably stupid and impulsive. So they'll gladly strip away their own freedoms in order to protect themselves from whatever perceived moral panic is in style at the time. You can see this kind of behavior in all kinds of areas; just look at laws against drug possession, or prostitution, for example. The government takes the place of our collective mother, "protecting" us from the consequences of our own actions. Why? Because the mob feels the need to impose its own sort of morality on everyone else.
Well, that being said, I can't actually think of any system that would really work better. Breaking up all the larger countries into much smaller bits would be a good start, but it wouldn't last, even if such an impossible task could be achieved.
Incest should not be banned. Giving birth to a child from an incestuous relation should be.
As I mentioned before, this would be practically impossible to enforce. The only options are to forcibly abort the fetus, or to sterilize anyone known to be in such a relationship; and nobody would ever allow such a thing to happen. Not in today's political climate, anyway. Yeah, they could take the kid away after it's born, or even incarcerate the parents, but what is accomplished by that? The point is supposed to be stopping the birth in the first place, after all.
