Yes, the thread is a serious discussion. You on the other hand seem to be posting some very loosely pointless crap about your failed love life.
IF a good incest story is in order for bkbt users, then maybe someone should just dig up the old darkjedi convos about what darkjedi used to do with family. and that shit was serious business (THE prime example of what Tiffanys is discussing here). Whereas your info MIGHT be able to tie into the topic matter at hand, all I've seen is, "My cousin is so cute. SQUEE." I wouldn't call it incest, just some random infatuation that every normal individual may experience from time to time. I mean, who hasn't heard the stories about individuals making out with a cousin or something, but not serious stuff?
AFAIK, the question isn't about "te he, I think my blood relative of sorts is attractive".
It's about "Would you consider a serious relationship with a blood relative", "What are your views on bearing children between blood relatives?" etc.
As for the comment about tiffanys rinse and repeat... the arguments are being recycled, so answers being recycled is a given.

My point was that you are posting things in this topic to derail it. You PM'd tiffanys... great. And... that is license to derail the thread? But pushing that aside, take the rest of this to PM.
Now, I've already put out my perception based on the idea of a community based society vs an individualistic society. Individualistic society, no one really cares. One could parallel this idea to illegal drugs. These drugs aren't legal (duh), but used by quite a few individuals. Clamoring for the legalization seems to get brushed off frequently. Most likely because it is perceived to have more harm than good. In a community based society, anything that damages the community is purged. (not just incest, but many other things as well). Mainly to ensure survival of the group.
Where do I stand?
I personally don't/wouldn't engage in incest. But I'm not going to slam someone who is genuinely in love. And yes, if it's an idea of "out of sight, out of mind" as others have stated similar to the parallels of the idea of illicit drugs or prostitution. I'd rate it as basically the same idea as "hey, I'm banging a hooker." and "Hey, I'm banging my sister". Not something that you really should be proud of...
Somehow, I think also it has many issues to do with the confusion between infatuation, love (which is overused a hell of a lot anyways) and basically different types of emotional support. I mean, people can't even tell the difference between acquaintance and friend anymore.

Hmm... Missed this point earlier.
This confuses me to a certain extent. Why would people want to randomly argue for the addition of the right of something without ever perceiving a need for it at a personal level or within arms reach? I'm referring to the comment about the mob mentality thing.

There's practical and pragmatic reasons why we generally frown upon incest. Child is dependent on parent up to early teenage years. This creates opportunity for abuse of power for sexual gratification. Even between siblings, power structures exist. If incest becomes socially acceptable, it will open up a whole can of worms. There are enough fathers fucking their daughters as is. Do we actually want more of this?
And think about the repercussions on the family unit. Say a father and daughter start getting it on. They are in love, that way. What happens to the mother? And trust me, things like that will happen. Does she shrug and move on? Oh yeah my husband's cheating on me, with my daughter...
I don't think this has anything to do with being sexually progressive or open minded at all. There are pragmatic reasons why incest taboo is present in almost all human cultures.
