Also, when you start drawing the hair, imagine where the top of the person's skull is. If you're drawing too close to the skull, things look wierd.... bah I cant explain this. Time for a visual ._.

besides the left face being incredibly messed up, I hope it shows the what i mean by the hair hugging the skull. its like permanent hat hair O_o

It helps to take an art class, but That has only partially helped me. I owe pencil shading to my 8th grade 3D [though we did mostly 2D] Art class. As well as faces to mrs myer as well. I never got to anatomy, so i usually only go down to shoulders.

Its nothing technical but I was gonna say that your style gives your characters some palpable personality. I like your choice of eye shape on the female, but the rectangular chin makes her look masculine :x

I went to an art specific highschool, but in all honesty, I probably learned more by drawing figures straight out of an anatomy book lol

The biggest plus from taking art classes is feedback, you can go a long way on your own but having someone vastly more experienced ripping you apart in all the stuff you did ''wrong'' (there's no real wrong in art

) will get you further a lot faster.

lol, no wonder. i learned proper drawing from "how to draw manga" and similar books. all are borrowed from CRxTRDUDE though.
i've been drawing since forever but it's mostly just scribbles.

aye! If it were me I would hide that sharp angle under her ear... the one thats defining her jaw. Then again if you're going for a realistic style, ignore that. Still, what you did worked imo.

Oh and a tip... When I think something looks meh but I can't figure out whats wrong, I look at the picture in the mirror (or flip the image horizontally if you already have a digital copy) and I usually see immediately what part is messed up. Maybe that only works for me lolol
