when will minecraft get teleports or something like that?
I dont have minecraft yet, but I've seen friend of mine playing it

as the map is endless and you have build random mines in faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaar away from your "main base" it takes eternity to get there..

Teleports have been in Minecraft for a while now.

yup, they're called mods

No, they are called updates... Alpha 1.2.0. So no, the Portal has been there for awhile. A Portal GUN is a mod, yes (which I might add, is awesome for build superstructures)... but is not equal to the Portal that they already have in the vanilla version.

I'm sure he meant you know, teleporting from a defined LocationA to a defined LocationB, not randomly appearing in the Nether, making a new portal, and praying that you'll end up somewhere near whre you want to be.

That's still a portal... since when did portal physics define what is and isn't a portal! :P

Even if you're technically and by definiton, correct, it's still not what he was looking for :P

I think the guy that built the starship enterprise had it floating, so he made a nether portal, counted his steps (a step in the nether is like 7 in the normal realm) and made another portal which lead opened out in the transporter... pretty cool IMHO
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

Does it really work that way? :O
I thought it was a randomly selected location

From the minecraft wiki

Quote
When re-entering the normal world, any distance covered in The Nether is multiplied by 8, effectively making The Nether a fast travel zone that allows for greater distances to be covered in a short amount of time in the normal world.

I only recently found the game about a few weeks ago, but I think its fun as hell.

It reminds me of when I was a kid with legos. The only difference is there are enemies and cool shit to find along the way.

-Revival power-

I'm playing this quite often in my spare time when I'm not whoring on Playstation@Home or playing Eternal Sonata.

I play on a server called, "Garden of Tranquility" which is whitelisted meaning there's not many griefers. Just trolls such as myself. Pop by and visit BakaVille here when it's made. (When I get more lackeys, or persuade higher-ups to dig for me...)

What servers do others play on, and what do they do?

Yeah, we got a online pirate about 3 months ago. Playing offline was getting dull.

Am I allowed to link it or does it need a PM?

You can set up servers that are non-legit, and play on servers that are nonlegit

In other words, get Bukkit for your server. It's the largest mod-friendly server

http://bukkit.org

I play on my friends personal server, but it runs in his basement so it can't really support more than a dozen or so people at a time xD

Also last night I completley relocated the SDM to a remote forest. I've decided to take the SDM project a step further and basically try to recreate Embodiment of Scarlet Devil in whole, including the lake and forest. Maybe once I'm done with that, I'll move onto even larger scale like builiding Gensokyo as a whole.

I had my own server for a bit but my net wasn't fast enough to keep up I think and I am too cheap to buy a host so.

Eagerly awaiting pistons so I can do my launch bay rail system.

About a week ago, I joined this mega touhou server gensokyo.dyndns.biz

If you look up touhou minecraft on youtube, the really long video that goes through a SHITTON of locations of gensokyo and are all super detailed, that's the server.

I'm pretty popular on that server if I do say so myself.
