Help with internet speed issue
tomoya-kun:
My Vista 32-bit edition is acting funny. I'm on wireless, but I'm within 10 feet of my router so that should not be an issue. I can get at most 30kb/s speed, and sometimes my network disconnects. Internet is fine on all other computers though, just this one is acting weird. Any ideas to fix it?

Oi oi wireless!? Cant help you there. Make sure cellphones and magnets are nowhere within the area, and that your wireless router is within line of sight, objects blocking it's path will make the signal worse.
It would also help to take a screenshot of your room so we could tell what the problem is.
Edit:
Oh yeah forgot to ask, do you have multiple wireless routers? They can conflict if the frequencies they're on are not far apart.

New wifi drivers... or better yet new OS.

I have another laptop on my desk which gets normal speeds. Nothing else is nearby, and I've unplugged any phones in my room.
Also, I have the latest drivers. Windows 7 would be a pain to upgrade to, so vista is fine for me.

Might have a shitty wifi card... Have you always had this problem or did you screw around with something and bammm it started? Also, have you rebooted the computer :P
