Windows 7 Updates Descriptions
(1/1)
Tatsujin:
I'm looking for a site (that is not Microsoft or their partners) that will tell me in plain newbie text what updates is what.
I don't want to validate my Windows 7 operation system. So far (KB971033) is one of them. I'm trying to get the ones with BlueScreen fixes.
Edit -- Wrong section ................... ....... sorry ... If a mod can move it to Technologies please.
rostheferret:
I remember there was a patch that would undo any changes that would force activation. I don't think I still have it sadly, but it worked for me, so I know there's one out there.
vuzedome:
You only need to validate it once.

Some people don't like the fact they have to pay microsoft £300 to use their software on a different pc.
Xyresic:
So far the only update I know of that could potentially invalidate a Win7 install is KB971033, which after hidden once goes away forever.
Every single update after that should be able to install without a problem. The actual Windows 7 Update Descriptions in Windows Update aren't bad either, I'm pretty sure Microsoft by law isn't allowed to say "this is a update to fix a bug" and actually have it be another validation checkup. So I would just read the update descriptions as they come along.
