Ever considered to stop watching anime?
SirSkyRider:
Stop no, but I've reduced my consumption of anime to approx. 2-3 new shows per year. Why? Well, basically it's because I'm not exactly a fan of how the whole industry goes all "moe~" now. There are a few shows that have "moe" characters in them and that I find quite nice to watch, but all in all, I prefer anime which are less focused on "otaku". On that concern, I find the hype surrounding VNs, especially those created by Jun Maeda (Clannad, Air, LB, Angel Beats), rather bizarre. To me, these are like novels you find at the train station's "bookshop" or like Rosamunde Pilcher novels. Concept the same, characters are flat and boring (reminds me of what Ki-kun says in an episode of "Seitokai no Ichizon": spineless...) etc.
Nope, I won't stop. But as long as the industry focuses on creating only "moe" stuff, I'll definitely won't watch more than 2-3 shows per year...

I actually stopped watching anime altogether for a couple of months (which would be the about the last time I posted here).
Though it was only because of being busy and then ultimately because Netflix decided to carry all of the Stargate SG-1 seasons for streaming.
I'm gradually starting to get back into it, but I find that I don't know where to start watching.
Even picking from my backlog is difficult.

I don't think theres an actual reason to quit, maybe take a break but not quit, it's like saying quit TV or internet or computer, I just don't think that someone "can" quit anime, maybe just got bored a little...
Superchunk55:
never thought about it. probably wont stop.

I watch 5-10 episodes a week and I consider that as having "quit".
Before I used to watch 2-3 series (~70 episodes) a week, mostly on weekends.
Nowadays mostly watch really old stuff like Candy Candy or Sweet Mint or Lodoss War anyway, so I guess I'm as good as someone who has stopped watching cartoons completely.
