(click to show/hide)i have no way to know if this is the original list of the rules of the internet, but all the ones to know seem to be here.

Zalis116:
1) First time I used it was sometime in '96 or '97. It was all at school computers, so I didn't do much with it beyond checking out bored, com, my friends' webpages and random nerdy sites that my friends recommended to me. And this was back when not everybody and their cat had a webpage or their own little corner of the Internet. My parents mistrusted the Internet at first, so I don't think we had it at home until '98 or '99. And they were right in their mistrust, as my younger brother got Internet-addicted more quickly and deeply than I ever did.
2) During my freshman year of college. I can even cite the exact date when I first established an online identity: September 30th, 1999, my join date at the now-defunct bolt.com. Considered the first teen social-networking site, bolt was a cesspool of insanity and stupidity with the occasional amazing and insightful comment. Oh, and it also had people who posted erotic stories, taken from old 90s newsgroup postings, in their blogs (or "diaries" as they were called back then). So aside from its forums (once the largest unmoderated forum system on the www), bolt also offered a convenient method of clandestine porn use in university computer labs. I didn't have my own PC until September 2000, so all my academic and non-academic Internet use for the 1999-2000 school year was on public computers.

Sometime around 2003, I think. m00t's been labeled one of "the hundred most influential people" by Time Magazine in 2008. :o

I don't remember exactly when I started using the net. I was in primary school so... 1998-1999 ish. I got addicted around 2001 when I found sailormoon.com and spent 90% of my time chatting to people and reading fanfiction. I still remember the guy who spent hours posting that I was gonna get pregnant from cybersex xD
