Dedicated server question

(1/2) > >>

Razorflame:
Ok, so my hoster of my Dedicated server gave me a temporary 9 day bandwidth restriction due to bandwidth abuse (perceived) by the datacenter, and I was wondering if there was anything that I can do to get the restriction taken off earlier than 8 days from now.

Is this possible, and if so, how?

Thanks!

Pentium100:
Well, this is between you and the company and what is written in the contract. It's not like I can email them and ask to let Razorflame use as much bandwidth as he wants.

If your server uses a lot of bandwidth, maybe it's time to move to a more expensive plan?

Yeah, I would get a 1TB 1Gb/s server, but I don't have any more money to spend on the extra power right now....

I know that you can't really do anything about it, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how I could go about asking them to unrestrict my bandwidth...

Cheers!

There really is no way except to get a different plan. Or, well, often you can buy extra bandwidth.

As an example:

http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_rootserver/x2/

You get 2Tb / month at 100Mbit, then the speed is cut to 10Mbit.
Buy you can re-enable 100Mbit at the cost of €6.90 per Tb.

Likewise, the about 2x more expensive
http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_rootserver/eq4/
gives you 5Tb/month at 1Gbit, then it´s down to 10Mbit.

You can find unlimited dedi SB for pretty cheap...
