well that says it all then.

I got the THQ complete pack on the july sale (come on, WH40k 2 + expansion, the Red faction franchise, Metro 2033, Company of heroes franchise, Dead space, STALKER, and a whole lot of other games for 49.99? who wouldn't  get it?) , so, unless there's something new there, I won't even bother.

I still remember the days of retail games where Diablo II and Warcraft 3 and most of the other games (standard edition) comes in A4 boxes and inside are installation guide, guidebooks, stories, promos, demos and sometimes even maps and posters. Now a standard edition Starcraft II comes in a A3 box with a disc in a recycled paper slot-in (not even a jewel case or special casing) and new games just comes in a DVD casing.

Its... sad, killing the fun in unboxing and seeing what freebies and content each different game comes with, i usually spend afew hours reading through the guidebooks and backstory before i even pop the game in the drive. Nowadays publishers are so profit driven its not even funny...

Amen. I loved my Age of Empires II guide book. Especially the italicized real life non-fiction references.

Nimbus looks like a great game, on Steam. But I hate buying digital. It's a puzzle game however, so it might not be for everyone. Looks great, but I haven't gotten around to getting it.

While I agree with you, digital distribution has its merits--especially for people like me where (1.) we actually want to buy the games legit even though the illegal copies are easily found in our country and (2.) we live in a country where precisely because pirated games are available, no one even bothers stocking the ol' games-in-boxes anymore for the PC.

As a matter of fact, I was mildly surprised when my brother found a PHYSICAL copy of Civilization V here in Indonesia, which he gave to me for my birthday. I thought, "holy carp, people actually APPRECIATE games like Civilization here?!?"

AceHigh:
Speaking of civilization games:

Alpha Centauri > Civ series.  ;)

Also if you like those kind of games, I would recommend a more "mature" game, such as Europa Universalis 3.

If you want to play a game that is more like Portal, then there is a new one released called "The Ball" (no balls jokes please)

BLACK OPS.
Not even. Waste of 100$, 4 hours of gameplay.
Though it had the least repetitive single player campaign and the most weapons I've ever seen in an FPS.

Go for Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood when it comes out next year (PC).
Hehe, I have all the games you have and about 168 more :)
