Sorry I've been busy lately.

Well, the thing is, I'm slowly realizing that I'm not really needing the "basics" (at least the very basic ones). Like I said, I did play DoTA for a while... it's just that that was 3-4 years ago. When I stopped, I was playing LoL for a long time instead. The simple basics, I mostly already know. The biggest problem I have is with last hitting I'm really bad with how much tighter the timing is in this one. And also, I don't know how to deny my own minions in this. I tried doing A+click, but that didn't work. Also, I totally don't know how much damage some of the skills do, and what skills some of the lane opponents have. So I'm caught off guard sometimes.

I decided to bite the bullet and try out two games.

(click to show/hide)The first one I played with my friend, I was using Drow Ranger. We were actually doing alright in the laning phase and managed to kill them a few times (despite the fact that I couldn't figure out how to toggle my Q so I had to just press Q and shoot every time I wanted to use it...), but then we started getting ganked by other lanes, where our teammates were getting owned. Getting turret dived by a fed Ax is not fun. Then I also slowly figured out that our entire team was ranged AD carries. We literally had no tank or utility (aside from Dazzle, who couldn't use his skills right... at least imo; I remember playing him well a long time ago), and all of us exploded nearly instantly. I came out of that with a shoddy score of 2/12/13. Most people on the team really didn't do much better. Our Luna (or whatever) complained about how I shouldn't use a hard carry when I'm learning the game, but she honestly did worse than me in gold/min anyway, so I thought that was silly.
(click to show/hide)Next game I played by myself with Dark Seer (I think it was random draft). To be honest, I like Dark Seer. I also wasn't playing a carry role, so no one could complain. I had 4/4/20 at the end. I love the way he can just gtfo using his E (or get anyone out using that). That speed boost is just so ridiculous. Sucking enemies towards our Naix when they tried to get away from him was also a lot of fun, was was speeding him up. Last hitting was also unnecessary, because I could just put W on a creep. Wham, whole lane pushed, and I get tons of gold.

So I'm at 1 win, 1 loss so far. Might play a bit more today.

I don't like being competitive, but as long as it's just for fun, I'm willing to spare my time from Recettear or Warhammer for some friendly funny DOTA2
