To come to think of it, besides Prince of Tennis I only know some sports anime by name and don't know the characters...

anidb and myanimelist are your friends. someone here got a character i asked them to guess by looking it up on those two(since then anime is unsubbed, there's barely any info about it much less fanart and character fanbase in the internet. i was lucky enough to watch all 26 episodes dubbed locally. the anime was hakugei densetsu btw.)
also, is this sports mah jong?(i know that's not a sport but anidb labels it as such. o.O, sitting for hours playing with tiles on a table must be good exercise)
