but I like having a collection on dvd
1. You can still put the files/movies down on a DVD, and you won't need to re-encode it.( Just put the DVD in the laptop instead of DVD player, when you want to watch it.)
I'm always on my laptop so it wouldn't work out.
2. When you are connected to another screen, you got the option between Clone or expand. If you chose expand, you can use the computer on one screen and watch movie on the other.
Then there's the remote feature
3. For me a remote came with the laptop, but you can always buy one.
infected and I either lost all my important data
4. I have never experienced infection/virus/trojan/mall-ware, but that is why you burned the files to DVD's
or you can backup with a HDD (that is what I use, got a backup on 1,4 TB so far)
But if you want to use a DVD Player to it watch from, you can do that too, but it's just more time consuming and difficulties in it.
