Monk's what I want to play as, let me know what you think of him!
Rogue + Paladin. There is no combo points to track of, but on every other odd attack a special animation happens that cleaves away enemies or does something else. Spirit is pretty awesome, too. You can build it to maximum and won't fade away if your out of combat, but I think you gotta be in combat to build it. And then you can disperse it.
Also, this is the
best game that utilizes environment
and dead bodies to such an extent. Hmm, I don't know how to point this out but I'll start with destruction in environments - lots of cases, where I think I'm not able to destroy that object, is actually destroyable. Lambs on the street for example, or walls, trees, tombstones, grounds as well, fruits, just about anything. Not everything is destructible so keep that in mind.
The second thing I want to point out is the physics. Superb, amazing, very amazing. Even after you kill an enemy or enemies, you can still punish their bodies or explode them or whatever including their gear! The swords, shields, or armor or whatever they had that you see on the ground you CAN still bounce it around. A lot of you played other games and you can tell how flawed the physics is in those games, including Skyrim and Dead Space (as an example). Skyrim does a good job on death physics, but fails when it comes to gravity (just take a body, put it down on a normal slope or hill, and watch it slide off the hill).
In D3, they (either the gamers or developers) call D3's death physics "moon physics" because the bodies feel light when they fly yet somewhat heavy when they land. There were lots of skeletons on the ground that I killed and some were just there from before, I decided to ... well, Leap Attack on top of those bodies to see if something would happen. Barbarians by default in D3 are very brutal in their strength so you can feel and see their blows - when I landed, the swords, shields, bones and bodies like either broke, scattered away or flew off in a distance. I had few bodies fly across towards my screen LOL. It happened about 2 or 3 times in my 5 hour gameplay.
Now what makes you think that I didn't think these things in the environment, including the bodies, weapons and gear would be stilled where they are? Like not destructible or won't move or get blown away from my attacks? You guys know when you play a game you can tell that "that thing over there is movable" or "it's a key to an event" or "an item", right? Well, in D3, you can't tell what-so-ever. Everything is blended so well that it fools you when you think "ah, you can't do anything to it". The animation, colors, where they're located (I had boxes and barrels in a tight spot I thought you can't reach them, but well they were reachable). The only exception to these are two things (so far), first are few obvious treasure chests that have blinking stars around them, or a door or area you could enter for an event or just to explore. That's really about it.
Ah ... what's next, I still gotta level the monk. I went with Demon Hunter for a few levels and now I'm leveling a Wizard. Wizard, as always, the weakest class in the beginning of the game due to the limited amount of attacks you get. Once you get around 16 or 20ish you start getting better magical attacks.
Also, every gear in the game can be equipped by all classes with the exception of certain unique pieces, like Mighty Weapons or Mighty Belts for Barbarians, Wands and Orbs for Wizards, Crossbows and Cloaks for Demon Hunters and so on and forth - there's few more I don't remember. The good thing they did in this game is that you need a freaking weapon to do damage, it doesn't matter if your a Wizard, Monk or Witch Doctor. Gear WILL scale and weapons are important. In D2, it didn't matter so much for casters since they're based off of skill trees - gear did matter but it didn't scale so largely like how the Barbarian's needed gear to be useful.
In D3, if you have a weapon with 3.6 DPS and your a level 20 Wizard, you won't do the damage you think your capable of doing. Weapons matter for every class, so you need moderate or best DPS weapon (with the exception to stats and effects they carry). Most gear also have effects like - 6% damage, 8% damage, more or less. So that type of gear basically reflects across all classes. Physical and Magical are all based off of your class, but the gear with % damage will scale with whatever class you put it on.
