Diablo III: Reaper of Souls

We played 8 players with the /player 64 command, nothing scared us.

But trolling would be pretty funny there.

I'm gonna laugh if it turns out the uber hard mode is pretty easy after you know the tacs. I mean, nearly all Blizzard games after WOW because predictably easy to beat. Not like there were many, but still, every boss fight, every hard mob, when you know what it does, you beat the shit out of it.

It's actually working with all games these days.

undetz. In Diablo 2, the maximum level -ever- in that game was 85 for monsters. Once you hit 85 and higher, your level scales better with the gear + skill + perks vs the monsters, who are level 85 or less on Hell difficulty. Even Uber bosses were capped at 85. Also, the modification attributes and levels of Diablo 2 is not the same as Diablo 3. This has been expressed by Blizzard.

Keep in mind, when I say difficulty in Diablo 3, this reflects the level of the monster, X amount of monsters, rares, champions, mini-boss-like monsters, attributes and affixes all increase from difficulty to difficulty. This also affects the special abilities monsters can use. For example, on Normal difficulty, you have that same type of monster which does 2 things only. In Nightmare, they'll probably do 3 things - means that 1 special ability was added. It could also be the same or different on Hell. Monsters also behave way too different than Diablo 2. In D3, they become more aggressive and play better defensively per difficulty.

In Diablo 3, Nightmare is basically the "beginning" of how the game should really be. That's what these developers stated. The difficulty is not like how easy you think it is. Don't bother thinking you'll even hit level 45ish by the end of Nightmare. Hell is a higher difficulty and when Blizzard mentioned the new difficulty, which is Inferno, they added that each monster is basically at it's best and reflects their aggression and ability usage. The level of Inferno monsters is no less than level 61. I don't know if you'll even hit level 60 in Hell - Regardless if you do or not, the level cap for playable characters is 60. It means Inferno monsters are stronger than you. You need proper skills and gear in order to live and kill shit efficiently.

Edit - I'll put it in words you can understand. In Inferno, you are not going to one, two or three shot shit the way you think you'll be able to. You can get the best possible gear as well, Inferno is going to be brutal without mercy. Going in and sweeping shit in one, two or three hits is not going to work.

Also, Hardcore won't unlock until you beat the Normal difficulty. So pretty much, if you are thinking of going Hardcore. You'll want a lot of potions and focus on as much life > defense + resistance + defensive abilities as possible. They did add a hot-swap-bar for skills which is on a limited cool down, to my understanding.

The only item you'll ever get to socket with extra Magic Find is your helmet. All other items may either come with Magic Find or may not come with that. The good news about Magic Find is, and because you'll be the only person to see the loot that drops after the death of an enemy or when you interact with the environment (breaking boxes, opening chests, searching bodies, etc), it will reflect YOUR Magic Find + Runestone special item drop? (if you have it socketed) + the monsters rate drop for items based on their magic find - regardless of who killed that monster. You do need to be at least a screen and a half away from that player in order for you to benefit from loot.

Do I make myself clear? I hope I do. This is by far the information I have gotten out of http://www.diablofans.com/ and the Official Internal D3 BETA forums. You can refresh Diablo Fans website every day or two and you'll always see something new on there.

Enjoy.

Nikkoru:
I never understood the appeal of hardcore personally, Diablo II wasn't at all that difficult if you followed a reasonable levelling strategy and obtained the correct equipment to go with it - but there will always be issues which arise or bugs that occur... and all those hours are wasted.

Speaking of which, I wonder what the penalties for deaths will be on the different game levels?

SilverDash:
Try beating Diablo II Hardcore (latest version) in singleplayer without cheating or maphacks or multiboxing. Take any class you want. I bet it's hard. I got to the ancients in hell with my paladin and like 3000hp. I died instantly because the ancient had "fire enchanted" and I died together with him... max resistances didn't help. You must learn all the game mechanics then to beat the game. (they nerfed fire enchanted in the next patch -.- ).

EDIT:
I hate online hardcore because of lag spikes, bugs indeed or hackers...
