What hate?
I'm just saying it's hyped up as any other bigger game, and bigger half of preorders came to be because of the name. Which is more than likely truth.
And it is made to test out new busyness model with cloud gaming and real money trade. Which is definitely truth.
Just wondering how people see it compared to D2, ignoring the obviuos parts such as graphic.
My apologies... I did not mean the hate here... I meant the hate
here...
It's like Mass Effect 3 all over again. People are using Metacritic as a way for people to vent about what they don't like in the game (mainly how always online gameplay is affecting their playtime today). I think once the dust settles, people will stop complaining so much.
As for what Havoc said, he's right. It's nothing like Diablo 2. I think* it's
better. Why? Maybe because I think that "failing" at a character build can get frustrating for people. Customization might be dead in Diablo 3, but it honestly doesn't kill the fun of the game because playing the game is the fun part. Killing monsters with multiple skills and spells is awesome. The mood and atmosphere is really cool, but above all... I'm having fun with the game! So easily do some people overlook the "fun" factor in a game and look to what made other games fun.
So here is the kicker. If Blizzard made D3 basically D2 with updated graphics... people will complain. I'm glad Blizzard made the changes that they did to bring a NEW game to the series. I don't care if anyone thinks the game is better or worse with the changes... what matters is Blizzard made the changes and I think it paid off. I like the game... I think I'll be playing it for quite some time... but I think this "hate" people have for the game is because people are irrational and don't understand why always online is required for this game. If I have to spell it out for you, then you won't even get it.**
* This is all my opinion, don't like it? File a petition with Blizzard. ;P
**
If there was an offline part to the game, people will sooner or later figure out how to dupe items. Once they know how to dupe them, they will want to sell them to people... either through the RMAH or third party sites. Since Blizzard knows that non-dupers will still want to sell items for gold/RM... they figured out the brilliant idea to kill two birds with one stone. Make a little bit of profit from the RMAH and prevent dupers from selling duped items on the gold-based AND real money auction house.
Still think always online is bad? If so, see *.
