First of all, Blizzard made a huge mistake by involving needing an online connection to even play the game in single player.
Number one reason to NOT play it or at least not buying a game.

And just like an MMO you can't play it offline, your argument is invalid :)

That doesn't make it an MMO. GW1 isn't an MMO, and it even has city done like MMO.

Havoc10K are you gonna do anything but whine? If you don't have any interest in the game, why spend so much time in this thread?

Don't pay attention to Havoc10K... if you don't mention him or say anything to him... he'll actually probably still complain.

And GW1 is an MMO. Not in the traditional sense of MMO... but neither is EVE Online nor League of Legends. But there is a form of persistence that makes a game an MMO. In EVE you level up your skills and buy stuff for your ship and voula! Persistence. LoL has you level up your hero and fight again people for new weapons and skills. Persistence. Just because you didn't see everyone in the wilderness in GW1 doesn't mean you can't go to the local city and pick up a group of people. How does it differ from Diablo 3? You can do EVERYTHING in Diablo 3 on your own.... GW1 has dungeons and instances where you needed a group.

Or you can choose to use bots, and solo it, but what I'm saying is GW1 isn't categorizes as an MMORPG it is just an RPG, with an easy accessible online base. MMO isn't about playing a group of people, it is about a shitload of people playing together. You can call D3 and GW1 MO-RPG if you want, but MMORPG is pushing it a bit to much.

Havoc's right, though. Not being able to play a non-MMO game offline in singleplayer mode is a good reason not to buy it. Actually, that probably goes for MMOs as well.

Reason why they did it (And reason why so many more games now-a-days are requiring Steam, Origin, or Live) is to try and cut down on people exploiting the game (As in, hacking it or torrenting it)

Sure, people will still get around it, but it's still another road block.  And who honestly doesn't have an internet connection these days? (I mean... sure it sucks when the servers go down, but other than that....)

Maybe if this was a decade ago, I could see a complaint, but really guys?

(Also, Level 52 Hell Monk here... and level 10 Hardcore Wizard.  And I have the Nightmarish Staff of Herding ^_^)

Yup, I'm stuck on Inferno Act II. But now it seems like you need some serious defenses to be able to take more than just a hit, two or three hits. You need 900+ resist to all, and if your a barbarian you need 10K+ armor.

Also, a bunch of classes got nerfed pretty hard between yesterday and today. The Demon Hunter and Wizard specifically.

I'm of the impression he wouldn't have "bought" it regardless. This was hardly the tipping point.

Hit 51 and beat Act 1 Hell on my Monk, but thinking of catching up either my Wizard or DH. Melee doesn't sound very fun at the high end at the moment.

So making people who have no intention of buying or who want to test it before they buy it wait a little longer is a reason to fuck your paying customers? The people who do the actual cracking are more likely to consider it a challenge than an obstacle anyway.

Sopa/Pipa/Acta will like this idea, so easy to check the register.

But seriously, imagine you have a busy life and all you can do other than drink and sex is play Diablo 3, but for a whole week or so you work your ass off, and on the day you can actually play a game, the servers are on maintaince, you literally bought a game that you can't play for the life of yours, and it's not even MMO, it's a god damn Single PLayer with Multi Player, it's unacceptable that I have to log into a server to play solo.

It's a sick idea and it will backfire. Sooner the better.

Aww, they fixed the chest in act II. No more easy runs for blues and rares I guess. As far as melee classes are concerned, you're pretty much restricted to defensive mode from act II and beyond on inferno, unless you got some pretty godlike gear. If you want to keep being a DPS machine, roll a ranged class. My monk has around 44K HP, 4K armour, 400 resist, and 9K DPS, and there are normal enemies that can oneshot me outright (yes, normal enemies—let's not get started on champions or rares).

Since Blizzard have now fixed some of the more glaring bugs with some classes, including BoP and quickening (I'm amazed that some of these made it through the beta—what on earth were those tools doing?) the monk's in even more dire straits than before.

My internet connection is shaky, we lose connection here every now and then. To be kicked off just because my connection can drop off it bull shit. I don't buy games that require a persistent internet connection. I don't mind if have to log in every now and then, but every time...no, sir.

In other news, I found a set item and I'm selling it for a high price. I need all the resistance I could get.

Any sailor that's underway. Any soldier or Marine out in the field. Any airm... never mind, the Air Force doesn't fucking do anything.

Underway is boring, videogames break up the tedium; not being able to play the latest and greatest single player game in your free time because you're in the middle of the ocean sucks.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.
