Call of Duty: Black Ops
« on: October 24, 2010, 05:48:19 AM »
Man, I've been craving for more Call of Duty ever since I did MW1 and MW2 during my summer. Great stuff. Totally different from anything I've played before.

I probably won't be playing this due to being totally broke, but even then the price is pretty high. Well, there's always Steam sales. ;D

GTTV has a pretty interesting episode about Black Ops.

I wonder if they'll be able to give the same expeirence we got in MW1 and 2 only better and improved? I mean, it is a different developer behind Black Ops. IIRC, the last Call of Duty game they did was World at War which featured...what.. zombies?

Here's to hoping Treyarch actually patches their games instead of shitty infinity ward, which has STILL NOT FIXED the suppressed M9 issue.

The zombie shooting was crazy and fun in co-op, but more importantly, has anyone tried that leaked version on tpb?

Couldn't care less about it. While CoD with Killzone are pretty much the only FPS's I like, for me CoD ended with CoD2 with a bonus of World at War. CoD2 is my absolute favourite FPS. It has amazing single player campaign and that is most important to me. I'm not much of a multiplayer (though I had great time with CoD: UO). CoD went bad for me when it left WWII period. Well, MW nad MW2 are still decent games but it's not the same.

Multiplayer wise its looking like they removed most of the bullshit from MW2 (Something like Last Stand still there though...), and built on its good parts, at least Treyarch actually listen to its community.
Single player looks awesome to from the trailers and such.

^Yeah but Kotick's really at great pain that people are buying Xbox Gold to play CoD and he doesn't have a penny from it, so he is seriously thinking about introducing some payment system, even for consoles users.

if they want a payment...say a monthly fee. There needs to be dedicated servers, updates and mappacks all thrown in with it, otherwise a lot of people will just say fuck it and not play.

i'd pay monthly for the above ^

As an xbox player, every FPS i've played is Peer2Peer, and you pay for map packs anyway....If they included everything like i said, then yes i would...as long as the price was reasonable. IE, around 6£ like a MMORPG is.

the thing is, he wants to do that, but on pc's.

that's what's wrong. he wants people to pay for a system that was free before.

Kotick will be the end of every franchise he touches.

Things like maps are free usually, so I don't see why i have to pay for them (on PC).  Like, comon, the L4D stuff was free,

that's cuz or else no one would actually get them, well known series' with a reputation can charge a little cuz people will buy regardless, also L4D maps aren't as intricate as the coD ones, and you get, in MW2, 5 multiplayer maps, WaW you got 3 multiplayer maps and a new zombie map
