Missing Files still taking up space on external hard drive.

JerkFaceBand:
I couldn't find anything in the older posts that matched my specific problem and didn't want to pull a lazerus on a dead thread so here goes.

Today my pc crashed, not sure why since all the neat little tools I paid for when I got it say nothing is wrong. anyway like I always do when something iffy happens I unplugged my external hard drives just as the blue screen appeared. I restarted my pc and went through all the checklists before hooking the hard drives back up and nothing seemed wrong and so I ran a registry cleanup and a virus scan and nothing showed up so I hooked up the two main anime hard drives and lo and behold I have files that are still taking up space but I cant find them anywhere on the hard drive. over 130gb of anime movies still taking up space but otherwise not there at all. I can access all my folders and files and none of them have the missing video files in them. I'm very confused and worried as that took me the better part of 3 months to download all of them I don't know how to find them. I know they are there otherwise I would have 130gb more space than I currently have.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEELP!

Grimpak:
either hidden occult/system files, or your external harddrives went bad and marked a whole bunch of bad sectors.

Pentium100:
Well, use GetDataBack for your file system (FAT or NTFS) and see if it can find the files.

billlanam:
Use the search/find with include system/hidden files option to find them (with appropriate extensions, or the directory they were in if you know).
You might have to turn on view hidden files on in order to see them.

JerkFaceBand:
Im using GetDataBack but its taken me almost 2 full days. I got about 4 hours left and I'll let you know cause thats over 139 gb of files I need back! [early cuyler voice] It's piss'n me off! [end early voice]
