Very Limited Upload Speed - Comcast

Hm, fair enough. I guess you just have to be fast. I guess the demand for HD stuff currently isn't as high as for SD. Probably will change over time though.

I myself usually get SD versions to save space, as the quality increase isn't really substantial most of the time. h.264 over xvid though.

I usually don't do 1080p, just more of a curiosity at this point - file sizes are pretty crazy, like 1 ep = 3GB at times.

I tend to watch shows through HDMI to a 42" HDTV (720p) so I usually go for 720p releases - 480p is still a little on the lower quality side for me at that size.   I only have a couple favorite shows that I download so I can afford the file size in 720p.

Always H.264 over Xvid also  :)

I am trying to increase my ratio to help myself and share the wealth of course - but I am experiencing extremely terrible upload speeds.  It's in the area of 0.1kB/s.

Torrents from other sites are not an issue and upload at the rate limited by my client.

I have searched for torrents based upon the largest number of leechers (and/or Freeleech torrents) and the fewest number of seeders.  I have downloaded certain torrents for the sole purpose of seeding them.  However, after downloading 6GB of Clannad in 1080p and being unable to upload at a decent rate this has only served to decrease my ratio further.

I'm using uTorrent and have tried both 'Enabling' and 'Forcing' encrytion will little change.

Is anyone else who uses Comcast having this issue?  Any workarounds thus far?  I really enjoy this site and its community and I would hate to lose out on sharing and being able to share because of my crappy ISP and their traffic shaping.

What I can suggest to you is, if you can pay either 90 dollars (for tier 2 business class) or 100 dollars (for tier 3 business class, which I HIGHLY recommend for 10 more dollars) you'll get everything you'll ever need. All ports open (uTorrent won't experience slow speeds), superb high speed for downloading and uploading (I play WoW while uTorrent is sucking huge bandwidth and still be running at 110-150 ms) unlimited bandwidth, no restrictions on anything (they don't care what you do, they won't watch you basically). The downside? 1 or 2 year contract .... and it sucks to have a contract but it is worth it.

Contact Comcast and tell them you want Business class if you want to go that way. Your upload speed will rocket-blast between 700 to 1000 KBs (and probably more) with Tier 3 class.
