Disgaea 4 (PS3)

they claim they improved the graphics, time will tell, but from what I see on the screenies, it's not much of an improvement, all in all, I love Disgaea for it's wickedness and dark humor, but in terms of visual entertainment it's really not that much to appeal, I was a little disappointed with D2, it was far too romantic for this kind of atmosphere, but the main guy wasn't really a demon so I dunno, i did like Rosa so I don't complain much on that, i liked D1 more since it was funny to see a priest with an Axe, or a brawler with a gun, and so on, making silly combos for weapons was really fun, and Disgaea 1 was much harder than others, I played the third game only by chance, but I didn't have much problems with damage control.

if D4 will have all that they claim to add, and updated graphics (I don't want the characters to be overly updated, the 2d characters in a complete 3d world were kinda fun to me, but the 3d effects could have been handled better if you ask me) then the game will sell fairly well, and not only to the male fan base.

Judge graphics yourself.

I like the Prinny girl and the main character.  Main reason I couldn't finish Disgaea 3 is I couldn't fucking stand that

(1. Mao was a HORRIBLE main character, I didn't care about him at all.
(2. The demon school in general just was lame.


To be fair, I can't really imagine how they could change graphics and still be true to the art style Disgaea is best known for.  The 3-d cel shading that many companies "improve to" looks just bad to me.

hell, I still play D1/2 for PS2, graphics are lame but fun :)

Visuals for D4 do look nicer than in D3, but not by that much, doesn't bother me really :)

Okay. Grapihcs are good. Now if we can have a REAL Final Fantasy Tactics game for the PS3. DAMN IT SQUARE! (completely off topic, but well ...)

hell yeah I would pay double the price :D
even if they made a remake of the old one with updated sounds and graphics, and with a few goodies added I would sooo pay for it,

as for D4, dunno the plot yet but the character set seems interesting, the prinny cosplay girl looks fun :)
