Catherine + Cursed Crusade
« on: November 06, 2010, 09:11:23 AM »
I had a topic previously made about the first game, but thats gone, so I'll repost that first.

Looks a little weird, but plenty of things in it that remind me of other SMT games. Don't know how others feel, but I'm finding the SMT games are amazing at the moment. Here's that second game:-

Not much info really atm, but it looks like it's got potential.

Catherine looks excellent. It looks like it could be the most original game in years in terms of concept. I am playing Persona 3 right now and I love it, and Catherine looks great!

a SMT-style game to the current generation consoles? Sold  ;D

Maybe this looks like it's going to be deeper than the persona games? dunno... I only played persona 3 / 3:FES and stalled at the beginning of 4 and played none of the other SMT games :S

I'm hoping Cursed Crusades is going to play like a Demon's Souls with stronger multiplayer component.

That would make my fucking year.

+1 hell yes!! Although i would prefer Demon Souls II, I think Cursed Crusade will satiate my need for an Atlus RPG. Although Cursed Crusade kinda looks like an Assassin's Creed rip off.

And Catherine looks amazing. SMT HD?? uhh check please!! I imagine it's gonna be a lot like Heavy Rain mixed with the SMT rpg style. That would be sick!!

From Software (Their the developers of demon souls, though they were involved heavly with Sony while making it) are doing Project Dark, which looks a hell of a lot like demon souls.

Also Sony have said they would consider doing a demon souls 2 (They own the rights, thats why From Software cannot do a demon souls 2 themselves) in the future.

If they release it in NA and EU then it will most likely be localised (Atlus has always localised the SMT series so far). A better question is, will they include a japanse langauge option and subs? =P

I'd assume they go the cheapest route and do an english dub only (licensing jp voices costs money). Like usually.

hmm, I don't think this game is gonna get released in US or EU judging by it's box art.....

US/EU publishers change cover art even when they're perfectly fine, so I don't see how that would be a problem.

I sure do hope Catherine gets western release too. I just found out about it like a week ago and already think it's one of the most interesting games in a while to me. And if Bayonetta got released here then why would this get denied just because of it's content. I think getting US and EU releases are based solely on if Atlus sees a potential market for it.

If they do release it in the West, it certainly won't have that box art.   ;)

When it gets released, it will probably be censored for the ESRB

Cursed Crusade is a western RPG developed by a French studio.  Atlus has nothing to do with it, nor does From.  Atlus USA is just the publisher.  Don't expect anything like Demon's Souls, or anything vaguely resembling a Japanese game.

I like the transition between Anime and 3D artwork, pretty cool, but if that is how the gameplay is, i'm not interested.
