iPhone4 vs HTC Evo
NaRu:
Its all about the OS..not the hardware. If you want more freedom with your phone. Be able to install new roms, themes, and change pretty much anything you want within the phone then the Android is for you. If you don't care about that and want a good phone for media (music and videos) and is fine being trapped in Apple's garden then the iPhone is for you.

Also, I don't see why you would like to replace your battery? If Android phones come with (crappy) batteries that needs to be replaced after some time, I understand why you would want it, but iPhone batteries seems to last the whole lifetime of a phone. My 3G (which I got when it was it was a completely new model) is still going very strong, battery-wise. Other than that, I must admit that it's less fun having an iPhone now that it feels like half of the people you see is using one. I might get a phone with Android (or MeeGo, perhaps?) next time, since they, as you say, do have some advantages. Anyone making the claim that an iPhone would be a bad phone, though, wouldn't know what they're talking about.

1. The iPhone is a good phone. I agree anybody who says it sucks is just exaggerating. That said, I don't feel it is massively superior.
2. Replacing the battery is more just a preferential thing. Whether you are dealing with the iPhone battery or anything else, depending on its use the life does decrease, though minimally if you are a responsible user. In addition, with Android phones, batteries are upgradeable for popular models in which if you feel that your battery just isn't holding enough charge, you can get one that is higher capacity. Other than that though the battery thing is negligible.
3. The Retina screen wins hands down if you are just talking about resolution, but if you are talking about energy efficiency or colors, I'd argue the AMOLED and Super AMOLED win.
I do like the iPhone, but I have a few complaints:
1. Only on AT&T for now, though I do know that it is in the works for other carriers.
2. No physical keyboard. It can't be the only good phone, if there is no variant of it with the keyboard.
3. Mobile Hotspot technology is only available if you jailbreak.
4. Antenna Issues - we've all heard about this one though, and yes the free covers do help solve the problem.
5. Camera isn't quite as good as it could easily have been, and several android handsets outshine it in this category.
6. Multitasking still isn't good enough.
7. Ambient noise cancellation isn't as good as the competing Android Phones. Especially falls flat compared to Droid X
And the #1 thing I hate about the iPhone which isn't Apple's fault. Too many people act like it is ridiculously better than everything else. Enough of the elitism. Does that logic mean that anyone else who buys a different phone for a similar price is just stupid? The phone has its pros, and it certainly has its cons.

The first point only applies to the US, but I fully understand that it could be a problem if you live there. Also, as far as I've heard, the "antenna issues" only apply to countries with relatively bad networks. That doesn't mean I don't say it's a problem, it should work as good as other phones in all conditions. Good they took the decision to hand out free covers. I'd also like you to develop what you think is lacking in the multitasking department.
On the other points, I agree with you and conclude that no phone can be perfect for everyone.

Don't be so silly :P Their computers are great, the combination of hardware and software that was made for each other really is worth the extra money they cost. I'd even argue that most users would save money by getting one, as most people seem to buy new computers when Windows has slowed down enough. Macs don't get noticeably slower with time.

A product being good doesn't make the company better.
Apple as a company sucks. Their practices make me rage every time. However, some of their product designs are actually very nice, and even as an Apple-disliker/Google-fanboy, this is something I can't deny. However, I've never really liked the iOS or the Mac OS X. Physically, the products are quite nice tho.

Indeed, they do things that piss me off as well. Still, I gave up Windows when I invested heavily (twice as much as my current Mac) in a computer with Vista. This was before it got publicly known that Vista was a failure. I can't believe Microsoft released it the way it worked. After putting up with that computer for two years I decided Microsoft had let me down. When they rewrite their OS from the ground up, removing all junk and bad practices that makes it so slow, I might consider going back. Linux is the closest alternative, but the lack of applications would be a problem for me.
That leaves just Mac OS X, as far as I know. It also has the advantage of having the hardware and software made for each other. After using a Mac for a year now, I've realized what a great advantage this is. If some other company could offer me this, I might consider switching.
One thing that could drive me away from OS X though, is if they start restricting it, like the iOS App Store. They're about to release an App Store for the Mac, but as long as they keep the option to install things through the Internet, normally, I think it's a good addition.
Even though I introduce my post with "Indeed, they do things that piss me off as well.", those things are relatively few. From my perspective, Microsoft has done much worse things. It'd be great if you motivate what pisses you off about Apple, you might make me think twice next time I buy a computer.
P.S. I think many parts of Vista/Windows 7 looks better than OS X (not the computers they're delivered on, though), but a good look doesn't make it a good OS. It's filled with junk that I wouldn't like to come close to again.

Getting a little off topic here. Not Mac vs. PC but rather iPhone4 vs. Evo and by extension Android vs iPhone.
